Hello, and welcome to my blog about cooking. The idea here is to provide a best-of-both-worlds solution to the problems that are inherent in both written recipes and cooking shows. I find that written recipes don't do a very good job at making it clear what one should be doing or what a certain step should look like (what the heck does "until golden-brown" really mean?), but cooking shows make it difficult to go at your own pace. Thus, I hope to provide "written" recipes with an extensive amount of documentation, both textually and visually. I will do my best to offer this documentation in a "standardized" format (so that once you've read one of these posts, you can use that knowledge to jump to similar sections of other posts), and if that format changes, I will update my old posts to reflect the changes. Hopefully this will be useful enough to let people with any level of experience cook these dishes.
